As a membership organization, we value your affiliation with the Institute and depend on your support. TPI members enjoy many benefits of membership including invitations to a host of member-only programs throughout the year; and discounted rates for TPI symposia, classes, consultations. Viewpoint, our monthly on-line newsletter keeps our membership informed of Institute programs and happenings.
The greatest benefit of TPI membership is being part of a community that supports high-quality, fee-accessible therapy and enhances the mental health field by providing networking and life-long learning opportunities.
For members looking to increase their involvement, TPI has an active board of directors and a variety of committees that welcome your participation.
To join TPI or to renew your membership, please use the online form below. Please note that the membership year runs July 1 thru June 30 annually. We are now accepting members for the 2024-25 membership year (July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025).
We invite you to become a member of The Psychotherapy Institute. Membership dues provide a significant source of funding for the Institute; they sustain programs and events that support the connectedness of our professional community. Benefits of membership are many--ranging from access to a supportive community to discounted course fees.

TPI is a member-run organization. As a member, you are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities for involvement, including:
Serving on one of our committees, which include Bridge Seminar, Clinical Services, Curriculum, Diversity, Education, The Board of Directors, Group Therapy Training Program, Legacy, Supervision Study Program, Supervisors, and Leadership Committee
Teaching courses through our spring and fall educational series (open to nonmembers)
Teaching and/or supervising our clinical trainees
Membership is open to anyone with a recognized clinical degree or credential in a mental health field, such as:
Licensed clinical social workers
Licensed marriage and family therapists
Licensed clinical psychologists
Registered nurses specializing in psychiatry
Board-certified psychiatrists or residents specializing in psychiatry
Students in graduate programs that are prerequisites for these licenses are eligible for membership, as are graduates of such programs who are continuing their training in a pre-licensed status (such as interns and psychological assistants).
In addition, persons with demonstrated equivalent clinical experience, or evidence of ability to contribute to the teaching and/or practice of psychotherapy, are also eligible for membership in The Psychotherapy Institute. Please call Sierra Wilson at (510) 548-4407 to discuss your eligibility.

General ($90): First-Time Membership
Licensed less than three years ($85): First Time Member Dues
Unlicensed student or associate ($65): First Time Member Dues
Lifetime ($5,000): Lifetime
